Wire Rope Slings, Synthetic Web Slings & Other Construction Industry Equipment and Industrial Supplies
Horizon Cable Service has provided products and services to the construction industry for almost 40 years. Wire rope of all varieties is a primary product used by construction companies.
Wire rope consists of three basic components:
- The core
- Wires that form the strand
- Multi-wire strands laid helically around a core
Wire rope is made in several materials and types, including steel, iron and stainless steel. Strands consists of two or more wires, laid in any one of many specific geometric arrangements, or in a combination of steel wires with some other materials such as natural or synthetic fibers. It is conceivable that a strand can be made up of any number of wires, or that a rope can have any number of strands.
Our high-performance steel wire rope is designed for repeated changes in direction of pull through reeving systems incorporating drums and sheaves. Our high-performance steel ropes offer higher breaking strength, more flexibility, better rotation resistance and longer life over general-purpose wire ropes.
Stainless steel wire rope, stainless steel cable, stainless chain and web slings are in high demand on construction sites. Stainless steel wire rope is provided in several AISI types: 302/304, 316, and 305. Hard-drawn stainless type 302/304 is magnetic. Type 316 is less magnetic, and type 305 has a permeability low enough to qualify as non-magnetic.
Below are a few of the proven applications for our high-performance wire ropes:
- Overhead Cranes
- Scrap and Grab Cranes
- Tower Cranes
- Mobile Cranes
- Boom Hoist Lines
- Winch Lines
