Plasma 12 Strand

Plasma 12 Strand is the highest strength synthetic rope available. Plasma 12 Strand is manufacture from High Modules Polyethylene (HMPE) that had been enhanced by Cortland's patented re crystallization process. This process is especially effective in medium to large diameter ropes where strengths are over 50% higher and creep is significantly less than that of standard Spectra 12 Strand.

Plasma 12 Strand is the highest strength synthetic rope available.  Manufactured from high performance Honeywell Spectra 900 Fiber, this unique product has been enhanced by the patented recrystallization process.

Plasma 12 Strand braided into the patented 12x12 construction, creates a torque-free rope at unparalleled strength for its weight.  Our patented Plasma HMPE (High Modulus PolyEythelene) Synthetic fiber has been successfully out performing and replacing steel wire rope in lifting and towing applications for over twenty years.  Plasma is equal or greater strength to wire rope size for size, yet is significantly lighter making handling much easier.  Plasma lines offer superior flexibility and are easy to inspect; they will also not rust, corrode or fish-hook as wire rope can.  Plasma also has low risk of recoil which will  in turn create a safer work environment and increase efficiency.  Our plasma winch lines spool even, and pull off the drum easier than steel - strong, safe, and reliable every time.  All of these factors in turn can increase a company's profitability.

Plasma HPME fiber has the best UV resistance of any popular synthetic fiber used in rope, Plasma, as a polyethylene fiber, has a relatively low softening and melting point.  It shoud not be used in applications in which high ambient, reflected or friction-manufactured heat is anticipated or prevalent.  Careful consideration of working load limit (WLL), loading timing, and other factors allow HMPE ropes to be used in multiple marine and land based applications in hot environments; including ME mooring.  In cold applications, Plasma HMPE does not lose any strength.  They float and do not absorb water like nylon, polyester and other conventional fibers.  Salt or seawater do not affect HMPE fiber ropes.  Plasma rope has been successful in many applications including, Vessel mooring lines, inland river barges, lifting slings, recreational vehicle winch lines, utility and pulling lines, theatrical rigging, trucking and heavy haul.

Mobile Load Testing Services & Inspections

Horizon Cable Service also offers inspection and  mobile proof test services for product verification, break testing and load testing to ensure compliance for all plasma synthetic ropes we sell or repair.  Our mobile proof testing services are available throughout the United States.  In addition to our mobile load testing services we have stationary test beds to service Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Wyoming, North Dakota, New Mexico and all surrounding areas.  Feel free to contact one of our industry professionals today at 866-369-9507.
