Horizon Cable Service offers a diverse selection of cordage products, including 3 strand twisted ropes, braided ropes and specialty ropes.  Any ropes or cores that are twisted together are considered cordage and these ropes are typically made from one of two types of fibers, natural and synthetic.  The most common types of ropes are Polypropylne, Manila, Sisal, Nylon and Sash Cord.  The advantages and disadvantages of particular ropes is dependant on the application and environment in which the product will be used.  Because of the varying applications and conditions, many different factors should be taken into consideration when selecting a rope.  Some of these factors will include strength, abrasion resistance, flexibility, water absorption and resistance to certain chemicals.

Polypropylene and nylon ropes are made of synthetic materials and are the most popular choice of cordage today.  Both of the rope have the  advantage of flexibility and resistance to chemicals.

Manila ropes have natural fibers and at one time were the preferred choice in ropes.  Manila still has some advantages over some of the newer style synthetic ropes, typically they are less expensive and have a great resistance to UV rays and heat.

These cordage products can be used in a variety of different applications and industries, buy are typically seen in utility, construction, mining, oil, and gas.  The reduced cost of synthetic ropes offer customers certain advantages over some other choices.  Significantly lighter weight, easier handling, increased safety, reduced operating expenses and improved performance.  Cordage is available in countless sizes and configurations therefore proper rope selection is imperative.

Horizon Cable Service offers top of the line cordage and materials to meet our customer's unique applications and usage requirements.  Our knowledgeable sales staff can assist in finding the proper rope for the most demanding applications.  Custom lengths and special constructions are available upon request.  Horizon provides a wide array of termination ends including thimbles, hooks and rings.
